Google is expanding the capabilities of AI Mode by integrating Google Calendar into its Personal Intelligence feature, allowing the AI-powered search experience to better understand users’ schedules and perform calendar-related tasks. The update is rolling out to users in the United States and marks the latest expansion of Google’s personalized AI ecosystem. Based on the user’s permission, AI Mode can now reference Calendar events to provide more contextual and relevant responses.
With the new integration, users can ask AI Mode to create calendar events directly from conversations. Whether it’s adding a meeting invite, scheduling an appointment, or saving an event discussed in Search, AI Mode can handle these tasks without requiring users to manually open Google Calendar.
The update also makes AI responses more personalized by factoring in a user’s existing schedule. For example, AI Mode can suggest meeting times that don’t conflict with upcoming events or tailor recommendations based on planned activities already stored in Google Calendar. This builds on Google’s broader vision of making Search more proactive and context-aware.
Calendar becomes the third Google service integrated with Personal Intelligence, following Gmail and Google Photos. Together, these connected services allow AI Mode to answer queries using a combination of web information and personal context, while Google says users remain in control of which apps the AI can access. Personal data is only used after users opt in, and Google states it is not used to train its AI models.
The feature is currently available to AI Mode users in the U.S. and reflects Google’s continued effort to transform Search from a traditional information retrieval tool into a more capable AI assistant that can help users complete everyday tasks directly within Search.
